Uniform contemporary full mottled calf. Spines with five raised bands, rich gilt compartments, two black morocco labels with gilt title, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, marbled edges.
Important contributions to the knowledge of chemical substances and reactions, based on his own often new and ingenious experiments, by the French mineralogist and chemist Balthazar George Sage (1740-1824). A light dampstain to the top margin of the front free endpaper and frontis, a few small wormholes in the gutter and spine foot, but hardly visible. In all a good set. Ward and Carozzi, 1944.
