This is the complete Volume VI of Flora von Buitenzorg with one text volume and six "figuren''-atlases. Between 1905 and 1924 the Dutch botanist Johannes Jacobus Smith (1867-1947) explored the Malay Archipelago and in particular the island of Java (Indonesia) in search of plant species, which he described and illustrated in great detail. This orchid monograph was issued as part of the Flora von Buitenzorg(other parts dealing with mosses, liverworts, etc.), but also as a stand-alone, hence the two different title pages in the text volume. Uncut, unopened. Not the 1984 reprint. The first plate-volume has contemporary blind wrappers, as we have seen more often. In fact, we do not know of copies with printed wrappers.
