Stockholm, Laurentius Ludovicus Grefing, 1759. 8vo (20.1 x 12.1 cm). Title page, [ii], 67, [xii] pp. Later grey wrappers with printed title.

Written by Carl Alexander Clerck (1709-1765), a close friend of Linnaeus. In fact, Clerck eclipsed Linnaeus by publishing the first valid zoological work (i.e., published valid according to the Linnaean (sic) binominal system recognized by the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature). One leaf with a tiny (4 mm) chip in the lower outer corner; otherwise, a very good, clean copy. Very uncommon. Soulsby 66.
