This work contains designs and illustrations based on Indonesian art, including batik, which in the 18th century had been introduced in Japan by the Dutch and had a distinct influence on Japanese art, in particular on textile design. With an introduction by the Kyōto painter Tomioka Tessai (1837-1924). Yamada Naosaburō was the printer and editor. This is one of two volumes. A vague dampstain to the lower front board. Internally a very good, clean copy. Rare.
