A finely illustrated plate from William Curtis's famous "Botanical Magazine". The plate is numbered 7044 and shows the Burmese yellow orchid, Sarcochilus luniferus [now Chiloschista lunifera]. The illustration was drawn by Matilda Smith, engraved by E. Bates and printed by Vincent Brooks Day and Son. It was published in the Botanical Magazine volume 115 [3rd Series no. 45]. Top edge frayed and soiled, plate very lightly toned, a few creases in the lower margin and right lower corner, otherwise a very good copy.
