Buitenzorg, Département de l'Agriculture aux Indes Néerlandaises, 1908-1912. Four parts in one. Large 8vo (25.7 x 17.2 cm). 108 pp. [1(1908): 27; 2 (1908): (ii), 9; 3 (1911): 29; 4 (1912): 41]; 21 [8;4;4;5] engraved plates. Contemporary pebbled half cloth over grained paper boards. Gilt title on the spine. Polychrome patterned endpapers.

Important botanical contributions with many new species and clear illustrations. Published in the department's Bulletin, Volumes 18-21, and second series 7. Each part with its own title page and pagination. The second part followed by a 2 pp. erratum. Written by the Dutch botanist Cornelis Rugier Willem Karel van Alderwerelt van Rosenburgh (1863-1936), who was the leading pteridologist in the Malay Archipelago in the late 19th and early 20th century. These four parts may be considered as sequels to his massive " Malayan ferns", published in 1909 (Stafleu and Cowan, 78). All parts are rare. A complete suite must be very rare. This one comes in an attractive binding.
