This is an extremely rare work, which can be seen as an extra supplement to the famous Rösel van Rosenhof, De natuurlyke historie der insecten. The carefully produced Dutch expanded edition, published two years after the German version, titled Raupenkalender, oder Verzeichnis aller Monate in welchen die von Rösel und Kleemann beschriebene abgebildete Raupen nebst ihrem Futter zu finden sind. It differs, amongst other ways, by the addition of a useful list of fodder plants according to the system of Linnaeus. The preface is by Kleemann, as in the German edition. The death of Linnaeus is mentioned. Uncut. The boards are probably original (i.e., this copy is as published). Provenance: a small private owner's stamp, W. Warnsinck, Arnhem, in the top margin of the title page; otherwise unmarked. Willem Warnsick (1856-1923) was a Dutch ornithologist.
