[Anamorphosis]
An early, 19th-century, Dutch anamorphosis.
Amsterdam, Gebroeders van Arum, 1835. Folded broadsheet (44.8 x 31.6 cm). Printed and originally hand-coloured.
A very rare example of a Dutch anamorphosis. Interestingly, this work includes a visual explanation of how anamorphoses are made, showing the projection, skewing, and transformation, using a grid. The image is of a man, cooking. It was published in a periodical aimed at young people, which existed for several years. An accompanying text is not present - all text (in Dutch) deals with other subjects. Uncut. Light toning, but generally in excellent condition.
