Jousseaume, [F. P.]
A collection of rare offprints on continental molluscs.
Paris, Société Zoologique de France, 1878-1911. Three papers in three. 8vo. (24.0 x 15.0, or 25.0 x 16.0 cm). Original printed wrappers and blind, protective wrappers.
Rare offprints from works by the versatile French malacologist Félix Pierre Jousseaume (1835-1921). Included are Excursion malacologique a travers l'exposition de 1878 (15 pp.) (1878); Mollusques nouveau de la république de l'Équateur (22 pp.; one lithographed plate) (1887); Description d'un nouveau mollusque terrestre du genre Limicolaria (10 pp.; text illustration), dealing with African species, the new species from Congo (1911). All three papers published in the society's Bulletin; the third paper inscribed by Jousseaume to the French malacologist and editor of the Journal de Conchyliologie, Henri Fischer (1865-1916). All from the library of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020), with his stamp in the top margin of the front wrapper, and the front wrapper and first page top margin. Otherwise, very good.
