Seldom seen start of one of the most important Dutch zoological series. The first volume with the title Notes from the Royal Zoological Museum of The Netherlands at Leyden. With many descriptions of new genera and species. In Herpetology there are papers by the Dutch zoologist and anatomist Ambrosius Arnold Willem Hubrecht (1853-1915), viz., four in the first volume, two in the third, and one in the fourth. Also much on birds, Crustacea, and Coleoptera. Many papers deal with the fauna of the Malayan Archipelago (Indonesia). Uncut. Book block of the first volume split and repair to front warpper verso, otherwise a very good, unmarked set.
